I’ll say it now: RADwood is my favourite automotive experience ever. I have attended a lot of car meets, cruise-ins, and full-size auto shows, and nothing tops this.
RADwood is like Comic-Con for car nerds. It’s a celebration of the weird, the rare, the underrated, and the forgotten — specifically, from the 80s and 90s. The whole show is like stepping inside a time capsule, complete with period-correct fashion, music, memorabilia, and most importantly, some of the raddest cars you’ll ever see this side of the Pacific Ocean.
This is the only place where you’d see a showroom-pristine 90s Dodge Caravan displayed with 80s Italian classics; or a Clinton-Gore presidential campaign decal on the back of a Chrysler LeBaron; or a fleet of Kei-trucks imported from Japan displayed alongside classic Ford Broncos. No garage queens or million-dollar exotics here either, they can have their Pebble Beach and we will have this at the parking lot at Griot's Garage.
It was more than worth it to wake up at 4 in the morning for the 3-hour cross-border drive in my E24. Which did fantastically, of course.
From a full day of shooting, I’ve got enough material to post for months. What a fun show.
